Every Child Reading Fluently with Comprehension
The Queen Rania Foundation for Education and Development was founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2013. We believe in the power of education and that every child in Jordan and the Arab world deserves a quality education. Our mission is to identify educational gaps, design solutions, and provide data and evidence for decision-making in and beyond the classroom.
Today, half of all children in Jordan cannot read and understand a simple text at the age of ten. The World Bank and UNESCO have classified this as “learning poverty,” which jeopardizes a child’s long-term success in school, employment, and life.
We aim to transform education in Jordan and the region by working with parents and focusing on the early childhood development of emergent literacy skills, engaging teachers and addressing Arabic literacy teaching and learning in schools, and advocating for the use of evidence in making decisions in and beyond the classroom.
